“A must see in Chiang Mai”

Serene with panoramic views on a clear day, the best temple in Chiang Mai.

Best way to visit is by private Taxi, which should cost around 1200 Bhat, and should take you there and back, and wait in air conditioned comfort. For those on a budget there is the red bus option at around 500 Bhat (see xe.com for local currency). Also at the temple is the Jade factory which is also worth looking at,

There is now a cable car to take you to the top, but still interesting to climb the steps at least once.

To go up to Doi Suthep temple (Golden Temple) after the parking, there are 2 ways, either walk up the step of 341 steps or by escalator cable car

“Wat a temple and view”

Take a taxi or tuc tuc up the mountain-beautiful Wat and spectacular views. Food and drink available. Rather a lot of steps which mat be a problem for the less able.
