I would go back to Chiang Mai in a heart beat just for Maesa! I went to another elephant farm in Koh Samui and GOD, it made me appreciate Maesa so much more. The way Maesa treated their elephants is so much more different. In Maesa, you can ride elephants (after their reach their adult hoods), they let the elephant have a brief break after each ride, they are clean and well fed, the roads you get to ride on are clean (trust me, I went to one with elephant dung everywhere!!) Although I feel bad that they are taken out of their "nature" homes, but I am happy to know that they may possibly be in a better place, away from the harm of people who might be hunting them for their tusks/ivory. It's a brutal world out there. I love Maesa though!!
