met by loverly helpful staff and was stunned by the array of jewellery on display The staff were helpful and the prices very good Would go back and would love to send for gifts
The store itself is wonderful! I took my time and my sales rep Pong was very patient with me. I even had to come back a second time to pick up a few more things and brought a friend with me and he was very impressed with their knowledge of products and price. we both left very satisfied and were ready to get home to show off our items. I now need to get in touch with the Gem Gallery as my items were stolen in a break-in and I want to replace them. Would anyone that reads this have an email address for them? Thanks JJH Texas
I have now purchsed 3 items from gems gallery and the service on all visits was thorough, attentative and very friendly. The jewellry is very traditional gemstone type-nothing too arty here but they will make to your specifications. It is worth bargaining because they can drop the price for many reasons but remember that these ladies are making a commission for their sales. Victoria and Angela can both be recommended as saleswomen.
If it's silver jewellery that you are after, the gems gallery at Bangkok had an abundance of beautiful pieces with different stones. They ranged from very elegant to big and chunky. I also visited the gem gallery in Phuket but they didn't have a very good range of silver. They only had large chunky rings, not small delicate ones. The staff are fantastic, speak excellent English and of course the free drinks go down a treat on a hot humid day. Transport was also free to and from our hotel.
From $25 to $700 -- happiness for all on the shopping list.

Gems Gallery is the Wal-Mart of Thai jewelry stores. Like the ubiquitous super centers dotting the USA, the size of the facility and the variety and array of available merchandise has to impress. Also like wally world -- the prices are good and the value consistent. While in Chiengmai, I made two trips. On the first, I trusted them to replace the stone on my Naval Academy class ring. I chose a black sapphire and it turned out beautifully. The next day when I returned to pick up the ring, I shopped for gifts ranging in price from $25 for a modern garnet pendant with matching silver snake chain for the girl friend of my baby brother to $700 for gorgeous yellow sapphire, topaz, amethyst, and garnet fall earrings to match a lariat necklace bought at the Phuket store last year by my sister. Over all, I bought five pieces and am happy with all of them. I was assisted both days by Vicky -- a very knowledgeable sales woman who knew the stock extremely well and spoke excellent English. She also came down on some prices as I bought more. However, part of my shopping list included harder to find stones which Gems Gallery was unable to assist me with finding. I ended up at a smaller store in the night bazaar -- Princess Jewelry -- across the street from the McDonalds. There they wrote down descriptions of what was required and were able to produce three or four excellent specimens for me to choose from the next day. Over all -- Gems Gallery is excellent. They will even pick you up at your hotel and return you with no obligation. However, if what you are searching for is not in stock, don't fear going else where.
