Perfectly located in the center of the old moated city of Chiang Mai, barely a minute’s stroll to the old city’s most important and impressive temple Wat Phra Singh, 2 minutes stroll to the city’s newest and most exciting night market the Chiang Mai Sunday Walking Street Market and of course a wide choice of bars and restaurants from local to international in style all within a few minutes walk of Rachamankha. Unique for a city hotel Rachamankha is renowned for its peaceful and very private atmosphere and incredible architecture. The hotel, just 22 rooms and 2 suites, is set in 2 acres of manicured grounds and the architecture pays homage to Chiang Mai’s golden age, the Lanna period, offering guests a unique stay in a unique property with a true sense of place. Rachamankha is also the only Relais and Châteaux in northern Thailand

my girlfriend and i stayed with her parents for 3 nights from 22nd to 25th of feb. we booked through agoda. we requested for airport pick up and it perfect. they had a person with our name waiting for us and the hotel transfer was in a comfortable van. as soon as we arrived, unfortunately the room was not immediately ready , well i guess we were a little early at about 12 noon. we had welcome drink offered to us and check in was pretty easy and the bell boy had our luggage placed in our rooms efficiently. the hotel grounds are simply amazing... we loved the courtyard concept with a touch if an oriental feel ... design and uts so green.. the trees and the lawn is beautiful. we could just laze around the hotel all day. the room is spacious and the amenities are excellent. they had everything you would need including a rack to hang wet clothes if we needed it. the bed is a little hard but large and comfortable. they had lcd tv, dvd player to add to comfort. the bathroom is spaciousm but did not have a separate shower cubicle. the towels were find, but some were reused again the next day. the room is well made each time we leave for the day and they leave us adequate mineral water. the pool area is pretty but the spa is not a full time spa. we have to pre-order the massages which makes it a little inconvenient. we had our massage done outside. location wise, pretty good. just that one has to walk quite a bit to get tuk tuk or alternative have the hotel call for us. the hotel is within walking distance to the sunday night market but about 15 minutes from the daaily night bazaar by tuk tuk. breakfast was good.. had a good spread.. although the menu is the same everyday. after the second day it does get boring. i suggest hotel changes the menu every two days so that guests who stay longer enjoy a better variety. i would give this hotel thumbs up for couples, family with children, elderly..its quiet, peaceful, away from the main hustle and bustle and its cl

We did not really like the room, it was small and actually felt a bit like a jail cell (disclaimer I have never been in jail). We did not spend much time in the room mainly for this reason. The food was nice, in particular the breakfast which was a small but quality menu. The staff were good but most lacked a little bit of personality, excluding the guard at the gate he was very bubbly.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: We really enjoyed going up into the mountains and spending time with the people of the Long neck tribe, these people were warm and gracious and by arriving just 50 minutes before closing time had them all to ourselves.
