HAVE A NAP
Whatever it takes, the Chinese take a nap...Where to Go in China!
Ambulance driver stops and naps
(China Daily, 2008-02-01)
An ambulance driver greatly upset the family of a patient surnamed Chen when he stopped halfway to the hospital to take a nap in Hainan province over the weekend.
Chen's family called an ambulance from Hainan People's Hospital in Haikou after Chen broke a bone while working on Saturday night. They paid all the fees for the service. To their dismay, the driver stopped on the way to Haikou for a 30-minute nap, despite protests from Chen's family. The nurse and another medical professional refused to ask the driver to wake up. When they complained to the hospital in Sanya, they were told the ambulance driver would not have stopped if Chen's life had been in danger.

..... Whenever possible, we take a power nap after lunch. This is a good Chinese (and not only a Chinese) tradition. It certainly isn’t a Dutch tradition, however, and when I came to live in China, at first I laughed and told my wife that I never would do so. But now I take any opportunity to rest for a while. At noon time, most people in China take a nap. When it is not possible to go home, you just close your eyes wherever you are, in the office with your head on the desk, in a chair in your shop, on a bench in the park, or when you are a vendor in your car or tricycle. In many office rooms you will find a sofa or a bed. So, during this time it is very quiet in our neighbourhood. .....
