We loved the entire day at the Maetaman Elephant camp. Our package included the elephant show/ride, oxcart ride and river rafting. The elephant show was great - they were well trained and did so many tricks (played basketball and soccer, gave thai massages and the finale - painted using their trunks). At the end of the show, the elephants are trained to walk up to you and ask for tips, so be sure you carry some small bills because they are pretty persistent. You can also take picture while sitting on the elephants - for more tip, of course. My favorite part was the elephant ride across the lush fields, it was such an experience. It was actually sprinkling when we went, but there was something so calming about riding an elephant in the rain (they provided umbrellas for us). The oxcart ride and river rafting were fun as well. We felt that it was totally worth the price, it's a once in a lifetime experience! Note that we went to the elephant show in Koh Samui as well, and felt that the Maetaman Elephant Camp in Chiang Mai was a much better experience. We highly recommend it!
