After reading reviews I wasn't sure what to feel about this place. I'm an extreme animal lover and feel guilty at even the smallest bit of what I feel is animal cruelty. I was pleasantly surprised when I got to the tiger kingdom. The animals looked healthy and had nice enclosures with several tigers to one "cage". This was nice for the tigers because several times we saw the animals running around and playing with one another. They also had a large water bath/pool to play in and would chase each other into the pool.
I also highly doubt these animals are drugged (as people have said in other reviews). The animals are born at the facility and taken from the mothers immediately so they can be bottle fed by humans and make a "connection" at a young age to people. Therefore they are quite tame.
The only defense the "trainers" have against the tigers when in the cage is a small stick. When the animals do something they shouldn't (such as lick a person) they get a GENTAL tap on the nose.
Although I did very much enjoy the kingdom I do have a couple qualms about it. First off the "smallest" tigers you can see are around 3 months old, and when I went there were about 7 of them. So if every three months they are having around 7 babies, to keep up with the demand for people to see the "smallest" tigers, what do they do with all these tigers as they age?
The second word of caution is if you are at all nervous start with the babies first. We went in and got thrown in with 4 "medium" tigers (which were huge). These tigers had all just been playing with each other in the pool and were in full play time mood. My husband was petting one and three other tigers cam quickly up behind us. I was so frightened I had to get out of the cage. The "small" and "smallest" tigers were much more my style and I thoroughly enjoyed these ones!

A very different day out! I wasn't too sure at first as wasn't sure if they looked after the tigers properly etc however the tigers looked well cared for which was good!
It's a really cool experience you get some great photos you don't really need a photographer if there are at least 2 of you an t the end the guide will take some photos of you as a couple/group etc
Worth the money
Best way to get there is in a red van style tuk tuk costs about 300baht for 2 people return and the guy waits for you and takes you back, pay once you arrive back not before!

Didn't know quite what to expect, but as it turned out, a great experience. The time spent up close with the tigers is fairly brief, so savour every moment. The runs are spacious and the tigers appear to be in good health. Not sure how the tigers remain so docile. The handlers want to make it a good experience and help to take photos. I asked the handler with me how long he had been on the job. Four weeks...mmm. Your photos from this visit will be a hit at home.

Wow! What a life experience that I never thought I would have! The tigers are magnificant and don't appear to be sedated. The handlers speak English very well and are very careful with the tigers and people interacting with the tigers! I did not feel unsafe at any time. We ate lunch first at the restaurant (which was very good - nice buffet or a la carte menu) and watched how things were handled before we went into the cages. You have the option of what size and how many tigers you want to see. Smallest are 3-6 months old, medium are about 6-9 months old and big are about 18 months old. Any tigers of the "big" size do not interact with people and we were told are sent to zoos. All tigers are raised by people in captivity and feed chicken and fried rice - or so we were told. The tigers are very well mannered and patient. I never felt unsafe, but still respected their size and the fact that they are wild animals. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS FOR CHILDREN! They allow children in the cages and have specific instructions, but as a mother I know children can make loud noises, want to touch the tigers on the face (a no, no!), etc. and this could aggrivate the tigers. A tiger up close and personal is a magnificant and humbling experience!
