If you are referring to whatI know as the World's largest Gem Store just outside of
Patong, I can highly recommend it as I bought myself a number of pieces for my 40th from there a couple of years ago.
When I got back to Oz I then had them appraised for insurance purposes & found that they were valued at almost twice what I had paid for them.
My friends who were along for teh trip with me also bought unique pieces & have also had them valued for more than they paid for them.
The range is is extensive & we have found it is much better quality than what we can get in Oz.

Hi There,
We have also had a couple of pieces made from the Worlds largest Jewelery store and have also found them to be genuine. They issued us with a valuation that actually valued higher here in Australia.
They even delivered the piece to our hotel the next day when they had finished.

you should be fine with the major stores, make sure you get an international cetificate with your item of purchace (ours had a photo of the item on it too)
dont buy gems or jewellery off any street vendors or markets

over the years we have bought jewelery from Gems Gallery (the worlds biggest jewellery store) a few times, and also Wang Talang and have some beautiful pieces of jewellery and as the others have said it valued pretty good here, and everything we have bought is fantastic quality. I have one special ring, with a saphire and several small diamonds set around it in 18ct gold, have had it for 6 years, worn it every day and still looks as good as new, my son also bought an engagement ring there last year and its beautiful, way cheaper than here and still good as new, i have also bought some gold bangles and bracelets without gems in them and they are also great, would recommend you go and have a look
the stores are fantastic and massive, so much variety of all different jewellery, you dont know where to look first (and yes we did barter and got great prices)
staff are a bit pushy but take your time, look around the whole store until you find what you are looking for, you usually get one assistant that will stick with you and i love trying everything on just for the fun of it too
we always say we dont need to buy anymore jewellery but always find ourselves back in there for something, love looking in there

I also have brought quiet a few beautiful pieces of jewellery from here aswell as a few friends and family members have and have never had any probs with them, as the other poster said these items have all come back with a higher appraisal then what i brought them for, i love how they never have two of the same item always differant, the only think i personal hate about goin is that you can never just look they seem very pushy about you buying but i guess cause that there job and they get there commission from their sales, but in saying that i still always keep goin back when ever im there. Enjoy ur holiday
