top 10 iconic north american landscapes.

1. new york
You can be anyone you want to be in NYC. Indulge your artistic side at MoMA, mingle with the Gordon Geckos on Wall Street, cheer like a pro at a Yankees game or kick back at a bar with a Manhattan and a new pair of Jimmy Choos.

 2. San Francisco is made of sunshine, seafood and a whole lot of hills. This is the place to embrace your inner (or outer) bohemian. But it's not all 'flowers in your hair' and free thinking, be sure to take a ferry to Alcatraz and scoff down a clam chowder at Fisherman's Wharf.

 3. new orleans
The Caribbean meets France and Africa in New Orleans. Music is everywhere, and so are the friendly faces. The city comes to life after dark so have an afternoon nap, get some comfortable shoes on and get ready to bar hop the night away.

 4. Las Vegas
Hello Lady Luck! Days somehow disappear in the hedonistic blitz of colour, light, showgirls, casinos and offers too good to refuse. Try to escape the endless buffets to catch a show; there's everything from death defying acrobats to Elvis on offer.

 5. The Grand Canyon has to be seen to be believed. A mile deep and many more wide, it will take your breath away. Peep over the edge, trek along the bottom or splash out on a helicopter ride that will blow your mind.
 6. prince william sound
One of the jewels in Alaska's crown is the stunning Prince William Sound. Surrounded by mountains and glaciers, the sound is home to some of Alaska's best wildlife. Take a cruise to search out whales, sea otters, seals and orcas.

 7. asper national park
This is mountain country, and it's spectacular. Snow-white mountains mix with turquoise lakes, stark glaciers and rich green pine forests. Go on safari Canadian-style and look for North America's Big Five: elk, moose, deer, wolves and even bears.

 8. vancouver
Young, vibrant and cosmopolitan, Vancouver has a whole lot going on. To top it off, the city is beautiful and surrounded by mountains, beaches and waterfront forests. Hang out with the trendsetters at SoMA, grab a meal amongst the chaos of Chinatown and explore the old-turned-new streets of Gastown.

 9. monument valley
You've seen it in the movies, but seeing it for real will take your breath away. This desert landscape is scattered with flaming-red, freestanding rock formations that loom, larger than life. Take a guided tour with a Navajo guide to uncover the stories behind the scenery.

10. miami
The air is warmer, the clothes smaller, the colours somehow brighter in Miami. Jewish, Latin and Caribbean cultures blend to make a heady mix of great food, even better music and a nightlife filled with the spirit of fiesta. Hang out on perfect beaches, spot classic cars and gaze at the beautiful people as they strut their stuff.
