Gassan Lake City Golf Club and Resort Description:

Gassan Lake City Golf Club & Resort has been developed in the northern province of Lamphun, near to Chiang Mai. Originally opened in August 2005, Gassan Lake City provided average golf in a scenic environment. Then in 2014, the course was overhauled by famous golf course architect Lee Schmidt, of Schmidt-Curley and also the designer of Chiang Mai Highlands. The course today stands as one of the pillars of golf in Chiang Mai.

Lake City features gently rolling fairways and plays to over 7000 yards from the tips. Using many newly designed courses, there are bot challenging routes to the greens for accomplished golfers and also simpler layups and bail out areas on most holes.

The course, as it name implies, contains plenty of water hazards and distinctive bunkering, which have been woven into a challenging and always interesting layout. Big hitters can take on a few of the par-4 holes in one, but near the greens demand pin-point accuracy. There are plenty of risk-reward opportunities on the par-5 holes too. The threat of water and expansive bunkering is ever present on most holes. Lake City Golf Club & Resort also rewards thoughtful play over pure power.

The unique club house makes for a nice after golf snacks and drinks, though its facilities are just barely adequate for western golfers.
